Summer Nights at the Museum

From 29 June to 11 September 2010

Once again this year, the Museo Thyssen will be taking advantage of the summer nights with an irresistible combination of art and gastronomy. From 29 June to 11 September the temporary exhibition Ghirlandaio and the Renaissance in Florence will be open until 11pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays, offering longer opening hours to enjoy this unique and unrepeatable exhibition that reflects the artistic and social splendour of Quattrocento Florence. As the fitting accompaniment to a visit to the exhibition, the Museum’s new caterers, El Antiguo Convento Cátering, have converted the terrace-cafeteria (which they have run since the beginning of this year) into a gastro-bar, a welcoming space for dinner outdoors, tapas or an early cocktail, all accompanied by background lounge music (open until 11pm). Also newly updated and under their management is the Mirador del Museo restaurant, now offering Mediterranean cuisine based on the finest quality ingredients and a comprehensive list of wines and cavas, all accompanied by one of the finest views of Madrid at night. The restaurant is only open for dinner (open until 1am)and booking is advisable (tel: 91 429 39 84).
