This year, 2012, the Museum celebrates 20 years of existence. Since it opened on 8 October 1992, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection has established itself as one of the most important cultural institutions in Madrid. In addition, the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection has welcomed thousands of visitors and the temporary exhibitions organised by the Museum have become highly regarded by art lovers.
