New Display of the Collections

In conjunction with the new installation of the Permanent Collection entitled Matta, The Open Cube, the Museum is presenting cycle of films made in Matta’s native Chile. Four films will be shown on Saturdays in October during the period that this new installation is on display. The series will open with the silent film El husár de la muerte (Pedro Sienna, 1925), which recounts the life of the Chilean national hero Manuel Rodríguez; it is followed by B-Happy (Gonzalo Justiniano, 2003), which deals with the trials and adversities of a teenage girl’s life; the next film is El brindis (Shai Agosin, 2007), which recounts the story of a Mexican woman who travels to Chile to discover her origins; while the last film is Machuca (Andrés Wood, 2004), the story of a friendship between two children from different social backgrounds. The films will be shown in the Auditorium at 7.30pm. Free entry.
