Concert: <em>Architectural Paintings. Windows onto Utopia</em>

Concert: Architectural Paintings NEW DATE

From 17 December 2011

On Saturday 17 December at 7.30pm Friends can enjoy a special concert organised in conjunction with the temporary exhibition Architectural Paintings. Due to circumstances out of our control, the initial date 4 December has been changed.

The programme of the concert, entitled “Windows onto Utopia”, corresponds to the time-span of the exhibition itself and aims to show that as in painting, music can recreate ideal worlds, be they imaginary or derived from a mythical classical past.

The soprano Laura Alcalde, accompanied by Pedro Iglesias (harpsichord) and Jore Miró (viola da gamba), will perform works by Josquín des Prés, William Byrd, Claudio Monteverdi, Henry Purcell, Georg Friederic Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Ticket price: 6 euros.
