Opening on 15 February, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza is presenting a major retrospective of the painter Marc Chagall. Alongside this event the Museum is organising a lecture series directed by Guillermo Solana in which art critics, writers, friends and associates of Chagall will offer an intimate portrait of one of the most multi-faceted artists of the 20th century. The guiding threads of “The Wandering Painter”, which offers witness to almost a century of history, include recurring themes in the artist’s extensive oeuvre such as his recollections of his native Vitebsk, Christianity and Judaism. Among the subjects of the lectures in the series are the influence of Chagall, his relationship with literary and artistic movements of his day and his major projects for theatre and opera. The course starts on 15 February in the Museum’s Lecture Hall. Booking opens on 1 February for Friends of the Museum and on 10 February for the general public. Limited numbers. Booking can be made online clicking on the links below or on tel: 902 760 511. Booking for the Friends of the Museum Booking for students Booking for general public
