On 12 June, the Museum will be inaugurating Hopper, the largest exhibition to be devoted to this US painter to date. In conjunction with the exhibition, and due to the important influence that Hopper exercised on film, the Museum has organised an international symposium entitled Edward Hopper, Film and Modern Life. Consisting of lectures, round tables and showings of documentaries and films, this symposium takes place from 19 to 22 June in the Museum’s Auditorium. Through the participation of film directors Ed Lachman and Isabel Coixet, director of photography Juan Ruiz Anchía, artist Brian O’Doherty and the exhibition’s curators, Tomàs Llorens and Didier Ottinger, among others, this event will aim to offer an in-depth investigation of film and painting. Booking opens on 4 June for students and Friends of the Museum and on 11 June for the general public. Bookings can be made online in the links below or tel: 902 760 511.
