Colour. Art Routes course.

19 September to 11 November. Enrolment from 19 June

In autumn 2012 the musseum offers a course within the programme Art Routes. Tours of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, exclusively offered to Friends of the Museum. This edition will focus on the fascinating history of colour through works in the Permanent Collection, allowing participants to explore this complex subject with regard to its evolution over the course of the history of painting in both a technical and symbolic sense. In addition, it will cover the colour theories devised by figures such as Newton, Goethe and Chevreul and their crucial influence on the emergence of various artistic trends from the Renaissance to the early 20th-century avant-garde movements.
