Seminar: Focus on the Art of Cartier

23 and 24 January 2013

In conjunction with the exhibition The Art of Cartier, the Museum has organised a seminar that will offer a detailed analysis of the working process characteristic of jewellery workshops, from the design and initial wax mould to finding materials and the actual creation of the piece. This seminar will be given by Xavier Gargat, director of haute joaillerie at Cartier, and will include a showing of the documentary Secrets of a unique jeweller. The programme will be offered twice: on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 January, from 5.30pm to 7pm. Enrolment for students and Friends of the Museum opens on Monday 17 December (15 Euros), and from 28 December for the general public (20 Euros). This fee includes a free ticket for an unguided visit to the exhibition.
