This May the Museum’s Education Department is offering a new edition of its Art Workshops for Adults, this time linked to the exhibition Hyperrealism 1967-2012. The workshop Replicating Reality. Techniques and methods in hyperrealist painting has been devised as an introductory course to the different pictorial techniques that use photography as their starting point. Participants will experiment with transferring photographic images onto canvas using acrylic paint in imitation of the working methods of the artists represented in this exhibition. Supported by the Artist Outreach Program, this course is structured into three sessions; a tour of the exhibition guided by members of the Education team, followed by two intensive practical sessions led by Arantxa Serraller González, a specialist in pictorial techniques and materials. Booking opens on 10 May for Friends of the Museum and students (30 Euros) and on 16 May for the general public (40 Euros).
