Modern Masters. Music for the Permanent Collection

To mark the end of the Music in the Collection II course, the Museum has organised a concert exclusively for Friends with performances of works by the composers who have been associated in the course with the paintings by modern masters in the Museum’s Collection: compositions by Mahler accompanied Summer Evening (1903) while the music of Fauré was linked to of the Duchess of Sutherland by Sargent (1904). These and other composers, from the Romantic period to the 20th century (including Debussy and Gershwin), will be included in the programme to be performed by the mezzo-soprano Ana Häsler, the cellist Amanda Britos and the pianist Claudio Suzin.
