Activities

Summer University courses with UNED and URJC

10 to 12 and 15 to 19 July 2013

Once again this year the Museum’s Education Department has organised summer courses in collaboration with the universities with which it habitually works. The first, The Rediscovery of Landscape: a route around Modern Landscape in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, will focus on the evolution of this pictorial genre through works in the Museum. It will combine sessions with members of the teaching staff of the UNED (with whom the course is organised), the Universidad Pompeu Fabra and the Thyssen Museum, and practical classes in the Museum’s galleries. This course takes place from 10 to 12 July and enrolment is now open.

A week later, from 15 to 19 July, Aranjuez will host the course Museum, Art and Social Education, which will look at the potential of artistic practices as a working resource for special needs groups and as an element of social integration and community-based development. It is organised in conjunction with the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and will include lectures by experts in anthropology, psychology, psychiatry, social mediation, education and art, among other fields.
