17 and 18 May 2014
The Museum is celebrating Museums Night on 17 May with extended opening hours for the Permanent Collection, open until 1am, and free entry from 7pm onwards. Also open until 1am is the installation <exchanging gazes> 8: Nocturnes. On the following day, which is International Museums Day, entry to the Permanent Collection will also be free. The theme of this year’s event, “Museums: Collections create Connections”, inspired the project launched by EducaThyssen on 22 April in which our followers on Pinterest, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter can share connections between their musical, literary and cinematographic memories and works in the Collection, at #VinculaMuseo. Visitors to the Museum on 18 May can also take part in the creation of a collective work of art with the collaboration of illustrator Álvaro Núnez. This activity will take place in the garden, at 12 noon and 5pm.
