The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation authorises the use of images on the website for private use or educational purposes, subject to the terms of use.

Use for educational purposes is defined as the non-commercial use of images for presentations, lectures, school or university projects, and academic or research publications of which no more than 1,000 not-for-profit copies are printed. Inquiries regarding other uses should be directed to the Picture Library.

Terms of use

1. If the image is used for reproduction, the work must be reproduced in full. Users may only reproduce a detail or cropped section of the work after obtaining written permission from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation. In such cases, the image credits must clearly indicate the word “detail”.
2. The image may not be manipulated in any way. The reproduction may not be superimposed with images, print or any other elements.
3. Reproduction permission is granted solely for private use or educational purposes. Use for educational purposes is defined as the non-commercial use of images for presentations, lectures, school or university projects, and academic or research publications of which no more than 1,000 not-for-profit copies are printed.
4. Any use other than those described in paragraph 3 of these terms requires the prior written permission of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation.
5. If an image owned by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation is reproduced, all reproductions or the list of photographic credits must include the following mention: © Name of Artist, Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection on permanent loan to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
6. If the image is used for reproduction, the user shall send three free copies of the publication to the Rights and Reproductions Department of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation. Departamento de Derechos de Reproducción, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Paseo del Prado, 8. 28014 Madrid, Spain.
7. The user undertakes to use the image from the website solely and exclusively in the manner and for the purposes described in paragraph 3 and in accordance with these terms. This material may not be used for commercial or advertising purposes without prior authorisation from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation.
