Opening hours

Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Closed Mondays. The ticket office closes at 6:30pm. The Museum is closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25. The Museum will be open from 10am to 3pm on December 24 and 31.

Summer Openning Hours

From 1 July to 2 September the temporary exhibitions will be open Tuesday to Sunday until 11pm. Moreover, the terrace-restaurant "Mirador del Museo", the cafeteria-terrace and the Shop will remain open.

Information Service

Visitors can request all types of information on the Collection Funds and the cultural activities organised by the Museum at the information desk. General information flyers are available to visitors in Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Catalan, Basque and Galician.

Groups

Group visits may be made from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 7pm and on Sunday from 3pm to 7pm. Advance reservations required through the Information phone number (+34) 913 690 151.

The maximum number of people per group is 25 for the Permanent Collection and 20 for the Temporary Exhibition. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Museum Ticket Office (taquilla@museothyssen.org).

Audio-Tour

The Museum offers an Audio-Tour of the Thyssen-Bornemisza and Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collections, which contains an explanation of the most important works in both exhibitions.
Available at the Information desk on the Ground floor in Spanish, English, French, German and Italian. Price: 4.00 €. Rental hours: 10am to 6:30pm.

Disabled visitors

The Museum is equipped with specially designed lifts, telephones and bathrooms for disabled visitors. Wheel chairs are available at the Cloakroom.

Photos and videos

Photography and filming is not permitted in the Museum.

Mobile phones

Visitors are kindly requested not to use mobile phones in the exhibition halls.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the building in accordance with Act 28/2005 article 7.j), of December 26.

Café-Restaurant

Offering all types of beverages, sandwiches, confectionery, set main courses, and a carefully chosen A la Carte menu. Ground floor: Tel. (+34) 914 292 732.

Shop

Selling books, publications, postcards, posters, t-shirts and a wide range of objects and souvenirs of the Collection. Ground floor.

Cloakroom

Objects like umbrellas, rucksacks, briefcases and large bags must be left in the Cloakroom. The cloakroom provides baby backpacks and chairs and wheelchairs for visitors who need them. For security reasons, large objects that cannot be passed through the security scanners are not allowed in the Museum. Likewise, animals, food, drinks and plants are not permitted for hygiene reasons.
