In him there converge, in an eclectic manner, the different trends of Italian Baroque painting. He was a disciple of el Padovanino and his works, classical in execution, denote, at the same time, the influence of realism characteristic of Caravaggism and the restraint of Bolognese painting. His painting is likewise characterized by the choice of themes based on classical mythology and the influence of Poussin. He carried out numerous commissions in Vicenza, in which city he settled after his marriage and where he stayed until his death.
