Trained by his father, Taddeo Gaddi was also influenced by Sienese painting. He mostly worked in Florence, but he also did works in Venice and Rome. He painted his best-known work in the Florentine church of Saint Croce, decorating with frescos the front and two chapels, in one of which he was buried. He influenced Lorenzo Mónaco, who in turn was the master of Fra Angélico.
