An outstanding figure of the German *New Objectivity* of the twenties, Albert Henrich was born and trained in Düseldorf. Receiving recognition in his lifetime, he won the Dürer prize in 1931 and the Cornelius in 1942, continuing his artistic career in spite of the rise of the Nazis to power.
