We do not have the information that would allow us to situate the date and place of birth as well as the training of this painter. However, it is documented that he directed an important workshop in the city of Munich, in which his son Gaspar and Michael Wolgemut also worked. He held important posts in the town council of the city. He died in the epidemic of plague in 1495.
