Born in Serinalta, near Bérgamo, he moved to Venice in 1510, where he carried out all his artistic career. Influenced by the most famous Venetian painters, by Bellini, Georgione and Titian, his work is marked by the vivid and brilliant colours and by a placid and bucolic temperament that seeks sensual beauty in a crystalline atmosphere.
