We have few biographical details of this artist, considered to be one of the main figures of the so-called "Mannerists of Antwerp". He was probably born in Antwerp and he appears enrolled in his guild from 1490 to 1515. The only signed work of his still in existence is a drawing with men's heads which is in the British Museum and which has made it possible to attribute other works to him, such as two panels in the Thyssen collection. His style is based on unstable, elongated figures in loose-fitting garments, to which is added a preference for detail and an almost extravagant imagination.
