He was one of the most outstanding Bolognese masters of the XIVth century, whose exact dates of birth and death are unknown to us. Influenced initially by the work of Ambrogio Lorenzetti, he was later influenced by Giotto and Buffalmacco, developing a personal style marked by the narrative aspect and the dramatism and the interest in lesser motifs.
