We have few details about the training of this painter, whose date and place of birth are unknown to us. He developed his artistic career at the court of Baviera, receiving commissions from the Palatine Count Philip and from the Elector Frederick and he was chamber painter to Louis X of Baviera. He had an important workshop from which numerous paintings were sent to churches.
