Filonov supported an art based on intuition and rejected the geometricizing rationalism dominant in the *Russian avant-garde movements*. He believed that the chaos of the universe could only be overcome through a biological investigation that would seek intuitively the development of the organisms. These ideas show in his untitled work, with extreme attention to detail, which represents a strange and chaotic world of disquieting imprisoned figures, with buildings on the edge of collapse and a sun of almost biomorphic forms.
