Biography HOMER, Winslow
Biography
At the beginning of the seventies Homer evolved towards a more classical consideration of composition, seeking inspiration in the great masters that he had seen during his trip to Europe. The lady portrayed was a New Yorker painter of flowers, close to Homer's circle, and is the central point of this composition dominated by the great empty spaces and the play of light and shade, which helps to intensify the air of isolation and concentration of the figure.
