After continuous journeys round Europe and Tunisia, Kandinsky and Gabriele Muenter settled in Murnau, a picturesque little town near Munich, where the painter would evolve towards abstraction. In this work, with vibrant colours and a decorative feeling, we see the influence of Gauguin and Matisse and his formal proximity to Fauvism.
