Zoom Kneeling Nude in front of Red Screen (verso: Seated Nude with Bent Leg). KIRCHNER, Ernst Ludwig
Zoom
From 1911 onwards, since he settled in Berlin with the other memebers of the group, Kirchner's style underwent a change. The chromatic contrasts became less violent, using a more subdued range of colours, he increased the deformation of the figures and simplified their forms with an almost Cubist criterion, which acquired a more primitive sensation. In this work we must point out the double spatial vision: the naked body is seen full-face and the room she is placed in is seen from above. The work causes an impact on us because of the great strength that it transmits.
