This work is very representative of the aesthetics and subject matter of Otto Mueller: with a reduced range of ochres, yellows and greens, two nude adolescents appear sitting on the grass, resting in the middle of nature. Their seeming air of ingenuousness is contradicted by the eroticism that pulsates in the suggestive postures. The characteristic angulosity of the *Die Brücke* group is here softened by the special sensibility and delicacy with which the artist normally treats his works.
