In his research into abstraction Vanderberger-Gildewart, having had different experiences such as Neoplasticism, arrived at the most absolute simplification of artistic language: in this case, white -which the painter considered, unlike Van Doesburg, to be a colour- is the only component, united to the interplay of the opposed triangles and the textures in relief.
