A work of great interest to appreciate the incorporation to the Bellinis' style of the Renaissance influence of linear perspective in the creation of a scientific space. The architecture becomes the great protagonist creating two symbolic areas: the wider, Classical-looking with an arch, architrave and columns, shelters the Virgin in an interior; at the side of the portico, in a street with a wide perspective, is placed the angel. This peculiar differentiation has a symbolic intention already used by other artists in the XVth century: the angel belongs to a different area. The figures appear smaller before such an imposing frame and its rigidity of composition is reminiscent of the Gothic style.
