Both portraits must have formed a pair, judging by their dimensions, similar characteristics, the same background colour and the position of both personages: the woman looking to the left and the man to the right, towards a common point. The Flemish influence is shown in the extreme attention to detail, almost obsessive, as can be observed in the treatment of the garments, the embroidery of the woman's dress, the man's fur-lined coat, the jewels, as well as in the perfect drawing and finish.
