Specialized in this type of little pictures with a wide landscape and small figures, Fetti painted various series dedicated to represent parables, today spread round various European museums. He narrates here the charitable deed of a Samaritan who picked up and looked after a wounded man, who had previously been ignored by a priest and a Levite, who we see disappearing into the background of the composition.
