The small size of this interesting panel suggests that it was destined to a private chapel, being the contemporary of those painted for Isabella the Catholic Monarch's oratory, today in the Royal Palace of Madrid. The severe and dramatic scene is compensated by a feeling of balance of composition and by the beautiful landscape surrounding her.
