There is some controvesry about the attribution of this work; for some experts, for its quality, it can be assigned to Michael Pacher himself, for others, given the difficulty of its dating, it can be adscribed to a follower of the master, dating the work around the year 1500, after Pacher's death. It is a "sacra conversatio" with the crowned Virgin and the Child in the central part, flanked by Saint Margaret, with the cross in her hand, and Saint Catherine, with her attributes of the broken wheel and the dragon. It is thought to have formed part of an altarpiece.
