Strongly contrasted with the yellow of the background there stands out the figure of this friar, who appears with the attributes of Saint Benedict of Nursia: the book of rules of the Benedictine order, the black habit and the cup with the serpent. The strong marked personality of the face has made experts reject the idea of a recreation of the founder of the order and decide to attribute it to the field of the portrait, identifying in it Christoph Scheider, the abbot of the monastery of Weihenstephan, for whom Polack worked between 1483 and 1489.
