This work is of great stylistic and iconographic interest, for the contrast between the image of the Virgen and Child, strongly influenced by the art of Michelangelo, and the two magnified figures of the donors. There are also different treatments both of light and movement, because compared with the immobility of the portraits we have the dynamism of the holy images. The Virgin is holding some daffodils in her hnad, which according to ancient tradition are related symbolically with the resurrection.
