LUCA DI TOMME Adoration of the Magi,
c. 1360-1365
Tempera on panel 41 x 42 cm
Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid
The persistence of Bizantine influence on the Sienese school is obvious in this panel, which attracts us with its pleasant decorative sense and its popular feeling. It belonged to the predella of an altarpiece and is considered to be the work of Luca di Tommé's first period. The influence of the Lorenzettis is obvious.
