The Conservation Area preserves, studies and restores pieces from the museum. It supervises all activities related to the preventive conservation of the works to ensure their stability and endurance.

Study and research projects aim to discover the techniques that artists used in order to better understand their creative process, how the works were conceived and made, or their current condition. The goal of such interventions is to restore the integrity of the works, using appropriate treatments that will ensure their future survival, and remedy any damage they may have sustained due to the effects of time and ageing materials.
