Biography

Born in Lithuania and emigrating to the United States with his family in 1906, Ben Shanh is considered to be one of the principal figures of "American Social Realism". He is especially well-known for his series dedicated to Sacco-Vancetti, of 1931, in which he showed his social and political compromise. Based in New York, he travelled to Paris and round Europe
