The new edition of Thyssen Evenings returns to Las Terrazas with four concerts by national and international performers featuring genres such as Iberian folk, ambient and electronic music. 

You have the opportunity to explore, along with one of our experts, the greatest masters’ canvases, with an exclusive tour that let you discover all the secrets, anecdotes and curiosities of some of the most iconic paintings in the History of Art.

The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza and TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary present the second edition of their open call for nocturnal walkthroughs, this time accompanying Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk’s Pedagogies of War. 

Walk through the rooms of the collection in semi-darkness and discover a selection of the versions of this edition, projected next to the original paintings. To close the ceremony, we’ll be joined by a concert from Las Petunias!

The series The Thyssen Through the Eyes Of… comprises a series of events that invite museum staff to share their personal tours of the collection with participants. 

The museum is presenting a short course offering a detailed focus on Nordic painting through the dialogue between tradition and modernity. 

A different Thyssen is an experimental platform within LabThyssen that invites young creators to reinterpret the museum’s collection through contemporary perspectives.

The new edition of Focus on the collection offers a thematic route around the permanent collection, exploring how pain has been represented over the centuries.

The museum is organising a new edition of Routes around the Collection, a course that focuses on the principal artistic movements between the 13^th and the mid-20^th century based on works in the Permanent Collection.

On Saturdays and Sundays from February to May 2026 the museum will be offering guided tours of the exhibition Hammershøi. The eye that listens, the first retrospective in Spain to be devoted to the Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916).

The fifth edition of the performance cycle by women artists, Vision and presence, is presenting ten new performances devised by Spanish and international artists to be staged in different spaces around the museum.

Organismo | Art in Applied Critical Ecologies is an experimental applied research program developed by TBA21–Academy and Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. It weaves together situated investigation, critical theory, and speculative practices through a series of applied case studies developed in alliance with cultural, academic, and civic entities. 

This in-person activity is designed to introduce Friends to the works in the collection one by one, through an intimate and interactive session held once a month.

This visit to our collection lights up one of the darkest topics in the history of art. It is a way to discover how taboos like sensuality and the reality of love in all its forms were portrayed.

Following the success of the first edition, the museum is now offering the second part of the course In situ / Ex situ sponsored by Visit Flanders, which focuses on the evolution of Flemish painting in the 20^th and 21^st centuries. 

Japan is the destination for the next organised trip for Friends of the Museum. Lasting ten days, it starts in Tokyo and its most iconic districts such as Ginza, Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.
