Information on Admission, Fees and Cards

The Museum offers two different types of admission tickets:
- Individual Admission Ticket;
- Group ≥ 7 Admission Ticket.

There are three different fees for Individual Admission:
- standard;
- reduced;
- free.

The Group ≥ 7 Admission Ticket has one standard admission fee.

Also, the following joint admission tickets include the visit to part of the Thyssen-Bornemisza exhibitions:
- Paseo del Arte Card;
- Madrid Card;

Reduced Admission Tickets (with valid ID)

  • Over 65's
  • Pensioners
  • Students
  • Youth Card holders
  • Faculty of Fine Arts teachers
  • Members of large families (this status must be accredited)
  • Disabled with 33% rating

Free Admission Tickets

  • Children under twelve years of age accompanied by adults
  • ICOM Memberships
  • Citizens who are officially unemployed
  • Free entry to the Permanent Collections on Mondays between 12.00 and 16.00 thanks to sponsorship by MasterCard.

Individual reduced and free admission tickets purchased on-line

  • These tickets when purchased on-line must be collected in the Museum ticket-office set up for this purpose, the same day of the visit.
  • Status proof must be accredited with valid documentation required in each case (check the requirements for reduced and free admission tickets) both at the ticket-office and at the admission point to the galleries.
  • Please take into account this step in order to arrive with time enough at the access control when your visit is booked.

Admission Tickets for Groups ≥ 7:

  • Groups of seven people or more are eligible for the group admission ticket.
  • This admission ticket does not permit any individual concessions or free admission.

Paseo del Arte Card:
  • This card includes one visit to the Prado National Museum, the Reina Sofia National Museum and Arts Centre and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
  • It is valid for one year from the date of emission at the ticket office.
  • In the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum it is only valid for the Permanent Collections.
  • General price: €25.60.
  • The Card amounts to a discount of 20% of the ticket prices of the three museums featured.

Madrid Card:
  • Includes the visit to the Museum Permanent Collections with priority Access.
  • You may purchase the card at the Museum ticket offices as well as at other points of sale.
  • Valid for one visit and it does not include access to the temporary exhibitions at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
