En 1969 esta copa se encontraba en la Galleria Jürg Stuker de Berna, donde fue adquirida por Hans Heinrich para completar su colección. De ella se sabe que estuvo expuesta, durante el siglo XIX, en el Museo Ducal de Gotha mientras formó parte de la colección de los duques de Sajonia-Coburgo-Gotha. La obra consta de dos piezas que encajan con un perfil de plata en la parte central; la parte inferior, al desarmarse, queda transformada en una copa. El artista grabó en la superficie de los dos cuerpos una decoración con roleos. El asa es una adición posterior y representa a monstruoso con cabeza de mono y cuerpo de dragón. El tipo de incisión, así como el motivo ornamental se han relacionado con obras producidas en talleres milaneses hacia 1600.

In 1969 the cup was in the Galleria Jürg Stuker in Berne, where it was acquired by Hans Heinrich for his collection. It is known to have been displayed at the ducal museum of Gotha during the 19^th century while it belonged to the collection of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. It is designed as two pieces that fit into a silver band in the centre: when they are taken apart the lower piece becomes a cup. The artist engraved the surface of both parts with scroll decoration. The handle, a later addition, takes the form of a monster with a monkey’s head and a dragon’s body. The type of engraving and the ornamental motif have been linked to objects produced in Milanese workshops around 1600.
