En esta interesante tabla se observan muchas características de la Escuela renacentista del Danubio y de dos de sus maestros más importantes. Refleja, por un lado, la influencia de Wolf Huber, y por otro, el tratamiento de la vegetación, el canon alargado de las figuras y la arquitectura que sirve de fondo evidencian claramente la huella de Albrecht Altdorfer. Fue Lübekke quien por estas razones asignó el óleo a un pintor anónimo al que denominó Maestro de la Adoración Thyssen. La escena nocturna representa la adoración de los Reyes al Niño Jesús en el interior de unas ruinas. La obra fue adquirida por el barón Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza para su colección en 1956.

This interesting panel painting displays many characteristics of the Renaissance Danube School and two of its most important masters. It reflects the influence of Wolf Huber, while the handling of the vegetation, the elongated figures, and the background architecture clearly bear the hallmark of Albrecht Altdorfer. This led Lübekke to attribute the oil painting to an anonymous artist whom he called the Master of the Thyssen Adoration. The nocturnal scene shows the Magi adoring the Christ Child inside some ruins. The work was acquired by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza for his collection in 1956.
