The Photographic Archive of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum offers the service of sale and rental of photographic material of all works from its Permanent Collection.
Downloaded images from our website can only be used for educational and scholar purposes, such as non-commercial use in presentations, lectures, school or university projects and academic or research publications. No more than 1,000 non-profit copies are allowed to be printed and images cannot BE passed on or shared with third parties.
To request images or permissions for commercial, advertising or any use other than those specified in the Legal advertising and to request a high-quality image not available on the Thyssen's website , please contact Scala Archives.
Scala Archives acts as the exclusive agent of the Museum regarding worldwide distribution of its images and the licensing requests. As the Museum’s representative, Scala Archives supply high-resolution image files (whenever possible) provided to them directly by the Museum.
Rates are calculated depending on the nature and type of the proposed use and the availability of the requested image. All requests of scanning and new photography will be reviewed case by case. Once approved, an additional fee will apply. The re-photography of a work requires a minimum of six weeks.
