SEN Award
2025
The Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) has presented the museum with an award for its work in disseminating this field of medicine through the works in the collection, thereby promoting social interest in it and its social and healthcare role. The award was collected by Natalia San Martín and presented by Dr. Jesús Porta-Etessam, president of the SEN, during the annual awards ceremony of the society.

The Laurel seal, recognition of tourism excellence

The museum has been awarded the SIE Laurel Seal which is the highest distinction granted by SIE, reserved exclusively for those establishments, institutions and companies that not only meet, but exceed expectations of excellence, becoming undisputed ambassadors of the Spain brand in the international tourism scene.
SIE Seal (Spain is Excellence) is the main distinctive of the entity and highlights members that meet rigorous standards of quality, sustainability and authenticity. It represents the ongoing commitment of these companies to achieve and maintain tourism excellence.

Isabel Quintanilla, Time Out Madrid Award
2024
Isabel Quintanilla's intimate realism has received the Time Out Madrid Culture Award for the best exhibition of the year. Its curator, Leticia de Cos, went to collect the award in the second edition of an event that celebrates the most outstanding artistic proposals of the Community of Madrid.

Education and social action program with the gypsy community, Secretariado Gitano Foundation Award, Solidarity with “G” “Tío Valentín Suárez”

The museum's Education and Social Action program, which develops different lines of work together with professionals and organizations in different fields, has received the Secretariado Gitano Foundation Award, Solidarity with “G” “Tío Valentín Suárez” for recognizing the value of diversity and offering a plural cultural proposal, which includes gypsy culture and its artists.

Musaraña Community, CECA-ICOM Best Practice Mention 2024

The CECA-ICOM committee, in its publication Best Practice Nº 12 – 2024, has recognized community of educators Musaraña, as a benchmark initiative at international level. The aim of the publication is to provide museum professionals with tools and instruments to improve museum education.

The museum's Education and Social Action program has been recognized for its best practices in universal accessibility and design by the Universal Design Innovation Observatory.

Web documentary Love Letters to Cities, ADG Laus Plata Award winner

The digital project Love Letters to Cities, which seeks to think collectively and imagine other ways of being and being in our cities thanks to the participation of different specialists, has received the ADG Laus Plata 2023 Award - Non-transactional Web Award for its innovative storytelling, around the works of the museum and its artists, thanks to the combination of different digital media.

The web documentary Return to Nature, which delves into the relationship between art, humans and the natural environment, has been recognized with the ADG Laus Bronze Award 2023 - Non-Transactional Web for its innovative design proposal in textual and graphic audiovisual content and podcast.

Education and Social Action Program, Queen Letizia National Disability Award for Inclusive Culture

The Queen Letizia National Disability Award for Inclusive Culture has been awarded to the museum's Education and Social Action program, for placing people with disabilities at the center of the cultural experience. The project, with more than fifteen years of implementation, presents a set of proposals and actions that seek to promote the exercise of the right to culture for all people.

The web documentary Migrant Artists / Culture Networks, which deals with how numerous artists, in the first decades of the 20th century, were forced to start a new life far from their places of origin, has been recognized throughout the year 2022 with the ADG Laus Bronze Award 2022 - Non-transactional Web, the Bronze Award Art Directors Club of Europe 2022 - Websites and the Silver Award ADCV 2022- Websites for the development of a novel narrative project in the digital field.

Graphic Narrations Project, best museum project at national level. Expone Award - Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia (AMMA)

The educational project Graphic Narrations, hich connects people from different backgrounds with the museum's works, has received the Best National Project Award from the Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia (AMMA) for promoting both culture and art as a path to a better future.

Our Restoration team, Art and Company Award
2022
The museum's Restoration team received the award for best restoration for the conservation work on Young Knight in a Landscape by Vittore Carpaccio, at the third edition of the Art and Business Awards, organized by ARS Magazine. The award was collected by Ubaldo Sedano, Alejandra Martos, Susana Pérez and María Jofre, in an event that took place at the museum.

Influencers Award
2022
Coinciding with its 30th anniversary, the digital newspaper El Confidencial recognized the museum in its Influencers 2022 Awards in the category of culture, as a Spanish institution that has contributed to building a better world. The ceremony, presided over by H.M. King Felipe VI, took place on September 27 and the award was collected by Borja Thyssen-Bornemisza, patron of the museum.

Mujerhoy 2022 Extraordinary Award Cultural Institution

By considering the museum as an essential vertex of art in Spain. This award, presented for the first time this year, recognizes the museum's three decades of excellence and cultural commitment. Evelio Acevedo received the award from the Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría; the Marketing Director of Lancôme, Rita Dias, and the CEO of Vocento, Luis Enríquez.

One Drop MAV Award

The association Women in the Visual Arts (MAV) presents the museum with the MAV One Drop Award in recognition of its work for equality.

In the Philanthropy category, recognizing the social involvement of the museum as an agent of change to achieve a better society through culture. The award was collected by the managing director, Evelio Acevedo.

Education and Social Action Program, Full Inclusion Madrid Award

The Education and Social Action program has received the Full Inclusion Madrid 2019 Award for its commitment to the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the museum's educational and cultural projects by actively listening to their needs, developing programs involving diverse groups, and addressing the cognitive accessibility of its facilities and content from an inclusive perspective.

Nubla video game, award for the best Cultural Video Game of the Community of Madrid 2017 and award for the most innovative video game at 3D Wire 2016
