On weekends from November to February the museum is offering guided tours of the exhibition devoted to Gabriele Münter (1877-1962), one of the founders of Der Blaue Reiter [The Blue Rider], the famous Expressionist artists’ group based in Munich.
Through more than a hundred paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, the exhibition sets out to reveal an artist who rebelled against the limitations imposed on women of her day and who became one of the most important figures of 20th-century German Expressionism. This is the first retrospective in Spain to be devoted to Münter, who although well known in Germany has only begun to acquire a higher profile elsewhere in Europe in recent years.
This guided tour is aimed at the general public aged over 12. Tickets are available at the museum’s ticket desks or from its website, paying a supplement of 9 Euros on the price of the entry ticket.
