Carmen Laffón prize draw: Love letter to the landscape
In her essay Letter to the river included in the exhibition catalogue Carmen Laffón. Variations, Estrella de Diego sees the combination of letters, the Guadalquivir River and the artist's painting as a form of memory.
On the basis of the envelopes that appear in some of Laffón’s paintings and cupboards, the author develops this idea into a broader metaphor: perhaps Laffón's true letter to the river was not inside an envelope but in her own work.
Starting from this idea, the museum is organising the prize draw Love letter to the landscape on Instagram. To participate, you must "like" the giveaway post, follow the profile @MuseoThyssen, tag the person you would visit with, and state which landscape you would write a love letter to and why.
You can participate as many times as you like, as long as you mention different people and write a different answer.
The draw ends on Tuesday 15 September at 23.59 and the five winners, who will each receive a catalogue of the exhibition Carmen Laffón. Variations, will be announced on Thursday 17 September.
