Claudio Alvarado Lincopi is a Mapuche historian and essayist. His work is located at the intersection of history, the city, memory, visual culture and Latin American critical thought. He has a BA in History (UAHC), a Master's in History and Memory (UNLP), and a PhD in Architecture and Urban Studies (PUC). He is currently curator of the Museo Chileno de Arte Procolombino and a researcher at the Centro de Estudios Interculturales e Indígenas (CIIR). 

Through books, exhibitions, research and cultural projects, Alvarado Lincopi has developed a practice that connects writing, visual culture and collaborative work. In recent years, in dialogue with the Visual Anthropology Laboratory at the Catholic University of Chile, he has made use of audiovisual language as part of these explorations. 

He is the author of Mapurbekistán: ciudad, cuerpo y racismo (Essay Prize and Research and Humanities Prize of the Ministry of Cultures, 2022) and co-author of Fütra Waria o Capital del Reyno (Writing of Memory Prize, 2019). He is currently directing Mapurbekistan, a documentary film on Mapuche memories of violence and dignity in Santiago, Chile.
