To celebrate International Museum Day, the museum is presenting a concert by the Choir of the Royal Casino of Madrid. The programme offers a musical journey from the Renaissance to the present day, through “soundscapes” that express universal emotions such as love, nostalgia, spirituality and hope.

Sixteenth-century music, such as “Ay!, linda amiga” and “Dindirindín”, conveys the delicacy of the Renaissance, while Verdi’s “Va, pensiero” symbolises the Romantic yearning for freedom. The spiritual dimension is present in works like “Gabriel’s Oboe” and “Alles, was Odem hat”, alongside the traditional “Aita Gurea”. The programme also embraces contemporary sensibilities with “City of Stars” and “You Raise Me Up,” and includes typical zarzuela compositions, evoking the popular and authentic character of Madrid. The programme concludes with “As Long As I Have Music”, a celebration of music as a universal language.
