In conjunction with the exhibition César Paternosto. Towards an objectual Painting the museum is organising a conversation with this Argentinean artist and the Thyssen’s artistic director Guillermo Solana.

Through a selection of works by Paternosto that establish a dialogue with works from the Thyssen’s collection by Mondrian, Picasso and Torres-García, the exhibition analyses the shift of pictorial paradigm that led early 20th-century artists to rediscover painting as object in contrast to the Renaissance illusion that had transformed the canvas into a window through which to see visible reality.
