In conjunction with the loan of three works from the collection, on 22 November Friends can enjoy a private guided tour of the exhibition Genealogies of art, or art history as visual art at the Fundación Juan March.

Composition in red and mauve by Percy Wyndham Lewis, Proun 4 B by El Lissitzky and Yellow Flowers by Matisse are all included in this exhibition, which centres on the concept that the fact that the history of art consists of objects created in order to be seen means that the way of explaining them should be similarly visual. It presents different visual forms of recounting the history of art devised by artists, art historians, critics and writers and aims to offer a complementary vision to habitually discursive approaches.
